This was our second time in the Scapa Flow Lodges and again, we enjoyed every bit of it. The view, the location, the very, very cosy lodge, comfortable beds, very well-equipped kitchen...we loved coming back every day. When we are on the Orkenys the next time, we would love to book again. Thank you!

Tips for other travellers
- Take at least one trip with the 7-seater to one of the smaller islands (last time it was North Ronaldsay, this time Papa Westray). It is a great experience! - walk to the Brough of Birsay (Mainland) during the low tide - walk via the Gloup to the Brough of Deerness (Mainland)

This was our third time at Scapa Flow Lodges & it’s one of our absolute favourite places to stay in Orkney! It’s such a lovely spot & is perfectly located, midway between Stromness & Kirkwall, to explore all over the islands. The view from the lodges of Scapa Flow is beautiful, the lodges are lovely & equipped with everything you need. Margaret & Moira are the perfect hosts, so friendly & welcoming. We look forward to staying again 🧡

Where to start! If you love beautiful walks & views, fascinating history, gorgeous arts & crafts, friendly folk & good food Orkney has so much to offer! Some highlights for us are the walks around Birsay, cliff walks at Yesnaby, Marwick Head, Skaill & the Brough of Deerness, beaches at Waulkmill Bay, Evie, Dingieshowe plus St Peter’s Kirk & Sands of Wright on South Ronaldsay, trips to Hoy, Westray & Rousay, history all over the islands, gorgeous food at Sheila Fleet’s Kirk cafe (plus her beautiful jewellery!), Birsay Bay Tea Room, Archive Coffee in Kirkwall, pizza & baked goods from Eviedale Bakehouse & Sands Hotel on Burray for a lovely evening meal.

There's so much to see without driving too far that it's hard to name them all!
