Only room with drawers is the room with single beds, Could do with better wardrobes in all rooms.

A modern property with excellent facilities for a member of the family who is disabled. The house was spotlessly clean and the owners extremely helpful and responsive.

Tips for other travellers

Well located for the Lakes. We visited Lowther Castle, Lakes Windermere and Derwent Water, climbed Cat Bells, took a boat trip on Windermere, hired a boat from Pooley Bridge all within a short stay of 4 nights. we visited the Jetty Museum also.

Rose cottage is excellently equipped and very very clean. It is very well situated, a short drive from Penrith and has very nice views. There is a pub open Thursday-Sunday that you can walk to, and plenty of surrounding villages although you would have to drive as the paths don’t continue all the way.

We had a lovely walk around Ulswater parking at Pooley bridge and following the trail round, We recommend Granny Dowbekins cafe for food and coffee, we also had a great time earlier in the year doing the boat trip at Bowness.
