The house was clean, comfortable , warm and had all the equipment to make a stay with our disabled granddaughter a good time for us all. We were a group of seven and there wasn't enough furniture in the lounge for us all. The style of sofa only fit three and not particularly comfortably. That said we would come again as the disadvantages were outweighed by the advantages of the excellent disabled provision. Also only two garden chairs for a house that sleeps up to seven isn't very good. Something that can be easily rectified would be a dish cloth and a second tea towel. It's hard to wipe a table with a tiny pan scrub. We all enjoyed out stay and hope to be back again soon.

We booked George and the Dragon on your recommendation and enjoyed our Sunday lunch there.

Owner Response

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you didnt feel that there was enough seating, we have been selective in our furniture choices to ensure the accessibility of Rose Cottage doesn't have to be compromised, opting for the rise and recline chair and sensory bean bag over a second armchair or sofa. With regards to the garden furniture, please watch this space, the current garden set is a temporary provision while we get a better knowledge of the garden through the seasons (as a new property we need to learn the wet areas, sunny spots, etc through the season). We hope to bring an accessible designed garden to Rose Cottage before 2027. I hope that this is sufficient and I am glad you all enjoyed lovely family time.

Really lovely adaptations in the property. Very welcoming with the little extras for the dog and for us. Great location for visiting the lakes and plenty of accessible places and dog walks nearby. Really nice to be able to walk the dog from the property and let him free in the garden. Great communication with the hosts. Easy check in with the key box. Lovely, relaxing break.

We visited Rheged and went into Penrith. Rheged great for the dog and the wheels. Booths supermarket as always was a treat for food.

I really enjoyed my stay at Rose Cottage, it was a very cosy and a safe environment. The access facilities were fantastic, the layout was well thought of, it was suitable for my needs. The cottage had all the requirements me and my caregivers needed to feel comfortable during our stay.

Arturo Lounge, nice restaurant with a nice ambiance. Recommend you do a guided tour on the lake cruise around Windermere, it’s a 75 minute tour and you get to see a lot of the surrounding lake and scenery. Also the Secret Garden is a nice place to go and eat, little bit more upmarket but the roast dinners are delicious.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are delighted you enjoyed your first trip away. We may have to try the roast at the Secret Garden ourselves, it sounds great.
