I stayed in a large room for one night overlooking the gardens and it was lovely with a big comfy bed. Just what I needed after hiking for a week.

Tips for other travellers
1) You are not allowed to walk in the gardens - i didn't know this before i booked. 2) It's a 4 minute walk into the "main street" - MUCH MUCH MUCH better than staying at Angel Inn or Red Lion 3) The breakfast is basic so don't count on a big hearty meal. 4) Lacock is a place to explore for ONE day (especially the Abbey which is fantastic - and Harry Potter fans will love the Abbey).

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. For breakfast you chose to order one hard boiled egg? Our breakfasts are as large and hearty as you want to make them; Sausage, bacon, black pudding, eggs (poached, scrambled or fried), mushrooms, tomatoes, Heinz baked beans, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, fruit juice, tea and coffee. There are vegan sausages and gluten free options too. Nowhere on our website does it say that you have access to our private garden. All media is very clear that you have views of the garden from your room as well as the large guest drawing room and the dinning room, where you are served breakfast. There are extensive National Trust gardens to walk around within a few hundred meters of The Rectory Lacock. We have many guests who stay here for short and long long stays from all over the world. They visit many different places in the area. There is a lot to explore close by - Castle Coombe, Bowood, Longleat, Avebury, Stonehenge, Bath..... Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope that you enjoyed your hike to Bath.

The Rectory has been beautifully renovated by Helen and Wyatt to create a luxuriously comfortable establishment which is also their home. We had such a warm welcome (including from the utterly charming Monty), tremendously helpful recommendations and directions for interesting places to visit and a range of suitable dining options. My mother (84 years old) had been invited to a wedding in Corsham, a short drive away. The tranquil atmosphere of The Rectory, delicious breakfasts and thoughtful attention provided by Helen and Wyatt were everything we could have hoped for. We absolutely loved our 5-day stay and cannot wait to return. Thank you so much for taking exceptional care of us both!
