I fell in love instantly — both with this place and with its hosts. The beautiful garden visible from the windows is a delight; in the mornings, we watched hares and birds, while on the other side of the property there are fields where sheep graze peacefully. The hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Everything at Rectory Lacock is thoughtfully arranged to create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The house itself has been restored beautifully and with great care and attention to detail. A lovely touch was the biscuits and snack bars left in the room, replenished with new treats every day. Helen takes care of every detail, and everything is spotlessly clean. The centre of Lacock is only a short walk away, and it would be hard to find another village quite as beautiful.

Tips for other travellers

We spent a long time deciding where to stay and initially considered Bath. Now, however, we are so glad we chose Rectory Lacock instead. First of all, there is no need to worry about parking — you can simply leave your car and do whatever you like. Secondly, it is the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. If you're not prepared to be spoiled, look elsewhere.
