If you are looking for a quality B & B in the Lacock area, look no further than The Rectory, Lacock. Well situated in its own grounds just on the North side of the village, it is very convenient for visiting Lacock Abbey and not far from Bowood estate. It is a former Rectory lovingly restored by the owners Helen and Wyatt over the past 8 years. Our room "Cedar" overlooked the lovely gardens and featured a four poster king sized bed with very comfortable mattress. There was ample space too for bedside cabinets, 2 arm chairs and a coffee table along with a hanging clothes rail and a drinks trolley and case stand. Complimentary toiletries were provided along with lovely soft towels and a flannel. Tea and coffee making facilities are in your room along with plentiful supplies of tea, coffee (including decaff) and a coffee maker. Nice touches included complimentary mints, Foxes glacier fruits, crisps, peanuts, chocolate wafers and shortbreads. There was a good size shower cubicle with piping hot water. Breakfast was in the lovely dining room overlooking the gardens and was both plentiful and delicious. Cereal and fruit is also available. What made the stay so special was the warmth and kindness of the hosts Helen and Wyatt.

Excellent hosts, very tastefully refurbished building, bedrooms and shower rooms. Set in beautifully maintained gardens. Fresh, local produce for breakfast. Ideal location on the edge of the village. A for minutes walk and you can visit the Abby and the wonderful village and pubs where good food is served.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We were pleased that you enjoyed your stay. It was both surprising and disappointing that you gave us a 3 for facilities. I reached out to you to understand more as we want to ensure that we provide a good service to our guests. You explained that you expected us to have a bar. Thank you for taking the time to come back to us. There are numerous pubs, cafes and places to eat and drink within 300 - 450m of the Rectory Lacock. We do not have a licence or intent to run a bar. Our focus is providing a high quality B&B. Our Boutique B&B has been accessed by the AA who awarded Four Gold Stars and incidentally advised us not to run a bar due to the facilities already provided close by in the village. Thank you helping us to understand your low facilities score further. For any other guests booking, we are a B&B, not a hotel; we do not have a bar; the village has multiple options a few minutes walk away. We look forward to welcoming you.

We stayed only one night and wish we had longer. The room and setting were both very well thought out and our hosts were great (as was the breakfast). Everything about the Rectory is extremely professional and the location is perfect for a short stroll into Lacock. Helen and Wyatt have done an excellent restoration to a very high standard and we will return. Kay and Tim
