Fantastic accommodation with everything you might need. Great grounds to explore, very quite and lots of lovely wildlife to observe.

Tips for other travellers

Make sure you check out all of the estate. We found hidden pathways on our last day! Sit back in the evening and look out for bats, deer and hares.

This was our fourth visit and no disappointments. Lovely cottage and perfect situation. Jenny always friendly and helpful - we're hoping to come again.

Thank you for a wonderful relaxing break it was all booked at the last minute, so it was great staying some where that we know would have everything we required for our mini holiday.

A great area soon at the coast, forest walks and local history. Plenty of places to eat out and local shops.

The estate is in a beautiful quiet part of Dumfries and Galloway. The Mews is a lovely comfy cottage. We stayed with our son and his girlfriend and our 2 dogs and were all very comfy there. Lots of information about things in the neighbourhood. The estate has lovely walks through the woods.

Tips for other travellers

The Mews does not have an enclosed garden but has a big area of green in front of it. Dogs can’t be let out unattended into a safe space. Not a problem for ours but worth noting. Loads to explore around and about. Very good food at the Palnackie cafe.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Kirkennan. If you are wanting an enclosed garden in the future our other two cottages Woodsedge and The Lodge have fully enclosed gardens and also accept up to 3 dogs each (sometimes more in The Lodge by arrangement).
