The Castle Tavern is in a great location for exploring Richmond. Very old beautiful building, in keeping with the area. We had the triple room. It was clean, fresh and welcoming. All the sash windows open, no noise from the pub below and slept really well. Value for money. Would stay again if in the area, and happy to recommend.

Tips for other travellers

Parking outside is free overnight, you will need a disc for the morning, 8am until 10am checkout, these are free. Would recommend seeing the River falls (stunning) and the castle. The shopping is quaint with lots to mooch over. We had dinner at The Tapas Bar (No 29), can highly recommend, it was delicious, with a friendly, welcoming vibe. Very relaxed atmosphere. For brekkie we went to Granny's Kitchen. Fab small cooked brekkie, perfect size, value for money, waitress service, very friendly.

Perfectly placed in the centre. Creaky old building with uneven floors but to be expected with such an old building. Could have done with a fan in the hot weather. Very friendly staff and Jon was in touch each day to see if we needed anything. I appreciate the effort not to disturb guests but feel they should empty bins/change cups every day. All in all the room had everything we needed and we would go back

Tips for other travellers

If you have mobility issues this may not be the place for you. Parking in market place is restricted to 2 hours with a disc. Long stay car park in nuns close is a couple of minutes away, best used with the ringgo app.
