I book Abbotshaw House for my wife’s birthday, absolutely lived up to all expectations. Hope to return in the future.

Very comfortable stay. Owner couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. I was delighted to find the B&B gluten free friendly.

Location is slightly outside of Newcastleton. Local hotel The Liddesdale has delicious food with extremely helpful chef.

A beautiful place to stay. The hosts Tom and Pam are so genuinely lovely and the room had such thoughtful touches in it. All very clean and beautifully appointed with gorgeous views. The breakfast was incredible too. Generous portions and so tasty. We will be back!

Tips for other travellers
Outward bounds - Whitaugh Park activity centre in Newcastleton. Restaurant for evening meal - March Bank Hotel. Not the cheapest but lovely. Great driving roads around particularly the route to Langholm. Newcastleton itself is a lovely little village. The Olive Tree lovely place to eat (gorgeous cakes!) and also Copshaw Kitchen recommended but was shut when we were there. Lovely walk from the B&B to the river.
