Prior to our arrival, Pam's due care and attention to our needs was most apparent in their communication. Pam was most welcoming. Abbotshaw House is beautiful, the peace and quiet was great. Abbotshaw House's cleanliness is of a high standard. The surrounding area is lovely, very quiet. Breakfast: Excellent and very generous portions. We never had room for the croissants!

Tips for other travellers
Ensure you get to the local pubs in Newcastleton before they stop serving food as trying to eat after 7.15pm will catch you out as it did us. We travelled to the nearest town Brampton which took us 40 minutes to travel to eat dinner. The roads surrounding the B&B are very quiet country roads, after dusk hares will literally run across the road and appear to be disoriented by the car's headlights. We drove with great care and patience as the hares would regularly jump out. The Olive Tree cafe in Newcastleton was excellent and good value for money. A lovely vibe and the staff were very happy.

Local eateries can get busy, so book. The walks in the Newcastleton Forest are great especially the 'red'route. If you are there when the Holm show is on, go, its great.
