I absolutely loved my stay at Brambles. I am truly in awe of the effort and attention to every detail you've made. This is better than any established hotel I've stayed in, and I would absolutely recommend staying at Brambles to anyone travelling to the south west.

I would absolutely recommend a day trip out to St Audries waterfall, but be mindful of the tides as you can only see it at low tide, also wear shoes with good tread as the path down is steep and devoid of steps until near the bottom. The Quantocks are great for walks and seeing ponies, sheep and goats.

Alison and David are excellent hosts. Alison greeted us on arrival and was very welcoming. Brambles is in an excellent location tucked away in the Devon countryside but within easy reach of Tiverton. A good wide choice of breakfast was available from pastries and cereals to fully freshly cooked. There is a footpath at the end of the garden leading to fields and woodland. This is our third visit to Brambles and no doubt not our last.

There are several restaurants in Tiverton and a local pub in the village of Uplowman about half a mile walk from Brambles. Tiverton has lots to offer and worth a visit. A walk along the canal is very pretty.

Fabulous setting in the depths of the Devon countryside with stunning views from the immaculately kept garden. Room had everything one could wish for - including wine glasses and nibbles (!) - and a dressing table with convenient plugs for devices.

Ask for a 'garden room' for ease of transporting luggage. The nearby Redwoods Inn is a proper English pub. Not only does it serve perfectly decent food, but men actually go there to drink pints with other men in a most pleasant convivial atmosphere - just like the old days!

For starters, I NEVER do reviews, but, I can't say enough good, and honestly can't think of one negative. The owners were lovely and entirely accommodating. Anything I needed they took care of... all I had to do was ask. They are always around working hard on the garden and establishment so they are so easy to find to make your requests. If you want a peaceful, tranquil, quiet stay with beautiful gardens and a lovely view, this is your place. You feel like you are way away from civilization but in fact you are only about 1 mile to 1 1/2 miles away. You hear NO city noise or traffic. It was such a lovely stay that I almost didn't want to leave. Alison took lovely care of me every morning for breakfast. I recently discovered that I am sensitive to gluten thus was quite uneducated as to what contains it. She saved me from a surely uncomfortable day or two when I almost ate something with gluten. She has her kitchen set up so that anyone with Celiac can rest assure they will be taken care of... just let her know in advance. To some it up, I couldn't give this B&B HIGH ENOUGH of a review. Though I was grieving the loss of a loved one, the stay at Brambles gave me the evening escape from the busy and sad days. And after my wonderful morning breakfast, I had nice, quiet & scenic walks to start my day. I just love nature and here I was surrounded by it. With all of their flowers and bird feeders you have entertainment any time you look out the window. So wonderful. I will 100% stay every time I fly across the pond to England. Thank you Alison and Dave, for such a lovely stay! There is so much more to say but I think I should leave it here. Too much and some people don't read. lol -Dawn-Marie

If you are into golf then you are in luck. There is a golf course about 1 1/2 miles away. I didn't get the chance to walk the course but my friend's daughter gets lessons there and the people there are very pleasant! Such a warm feeling. Though I never looked for it, I hear there is a pub that is walking distance from the B&B (3/4 of a mile I think). Also, there is a small store that I walked to many times (it is actually on the way to the golf course). I had a car but the walk is so nice and not difficult at all. I'd say it is about a mile to 1 & 1/4 miles from the B&B.
