A wonderful stay from start to finish—thank you, Alison and David. The room was spotless, with a fantastic shower and a great selection of teas, coffee, and thoughtful little treats. A really tasty breakfast! You were incredibly accommodating with dietary preferences (gluten and lactose), which made a big difference. You are genuinely warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what you do—it was a pleasure talking with you. The garden is beautifully maintained, full of diverse plants and birdlife. A garden that guests can actually use not only look at. Thank you.

There are plenty of pubs in the are with good food and atmosphere. All within walking distance (Uplowman, Sampford Peverell). Great public transport (buses and trains), if you like to give your car a break.

The Redwood is the nearest place, an old, basic pub, very friendly and local, good food. Unfortunately they had a power cut so we went into the next village to the Globe. Very lively, busy place, good food.

Alison and Dave were excellent hosts, the breakfasts were superb, lots of choice and well presented. We stayed in the Garden Room - comfy bed, plenty of teas, coffees etc., which, although we only stayed for two nights, were replenished! Lovely garden and we certainly enjoyed our sundowners sitting overlooking the countryside. The Brambles website gave all the information we needed for enjoying the surrounding area - thank you Alison and Dave.

As stated the Brambles website gave us all the information needed to find our way around, including local restaurants etc. Our main purpose for our visit was to walk along the Great Western Canal which we thoroughly enjoyed - easy to find and parking was free! Only managed to walk half of the way as we obviously had to walk back to pick up the car so shall be returning to The Brambles to walk the other way! Also enjoyed visiting Knightshayes National Trust - stunning gardens.
