I have stayed at the cabin before and every time it has been superb. The area is very relaxing and you couldn't wish for a better cabin.

There is plenty to do around the area or further afield. There is a lovely little café on the front in Kippford after a nice walk with the dog. There is a nice hotel for meals too.

The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful and spacious. We were there on a cold, wet weekend and it was actually lovely to be snuggled up by the fire enjoying some relaxing family time. The surrounding areas are also lovely while driving around and we hope to return in the summer to make the most of the area and being able to walk further in better weather. Wendy was lovely to deal with on the phone and in messages. She has been so accommodating and I would highly recommend anyone to visit.

We were only in the area for a short amount of time and due to the weather, did not do as much as we had hoped. We had a lovely lunch in the garden centre café in Dalbeattie

This is a wonderful place to stay and Wendy is so helpful during any correspondence but manages to be unobtrusive in every way. She clearly trusts her visitors and takes a great pride in the accommodation she offers. The cabin is very well equipped and has everything that is needed, additionally everything is good quality and in good taste. The cabin is situated in a quiet area and having spent a week there we feel really so much more refreshed. It is also near some great walks and near a very friendly village/marina. The local shop there does great baked potatoes and lovely cakes and is also very dog friendly. The cabin was also dog friendly and there were some little treats left for our cocker spaniel in a jar (thank you!). Upon arrival there was a welcome pack of biscuits, crisps and wine which we did not expect but very much appreciated. The beds and sofa are comfy and the television is certainly one of the largest we have seen and provides access to the usual range of apps and services. After walking 20,000 steps around the local forest it was just great to relax in front of. The nice warm cosy feel of the place however sometimes meant we had to re-run the movie we were watching! We really hope to come back to stay in the future and we would fully recommend staying at Kipplochan. There was nothing not to like whatsoever.

There is plenty to do in this location whether you want to walk through forests; stroll along the coastline or generally rest in the log cabin. There is also a golf course nearby (we did not use it as we are not golfers). Plenty of walks to take a dog on and lots of dog friendly restaurants nearby. A really pleasant place to stay where people are friendly and welcoming.
