Thank you for providing such a welcoming and comfortable environment for our 5 day stay. The room was perfect- stylish and warm with such a fantastic view of Sale Fell. We appreciated the choice of food at breakfast- beautifully prepared. We will certainly recommend Link House to family and friends.

Tips for other travellers

The walk along Bassenthwaite lake through the woods from just above the sailing club to Ouse Bridge is interesting with woodland anemones and wild garlic covering the woodland floor and small 'beaches' giving views of the lake. Dubwath Silver Meadows just opposite Link House offers a tranquil short walk. Lowther House, near Penrith well worth a trip.

We received a warm welcome from Peter and Katie as usual and were shown to our spotlessly clean bedroom. Lovely views of the north Lakeland fells. A few minutes away is a footpath to Bassenthwaite Lake. Close by is a good place for coffee and cakes at the former railway station. Across the road is Silver Meadows wetland nature reserve with a boardwalk and a bird hide.

Our favourite places to eat were De Brito Craigs bistro at Embleton, The Pheasant at Crosthwaite and the Sun at Bassenthwaite Village for a more informal pub meal.
