The staff was amazing, especially Josh and Michael. Josh gave us excellent recommendations for walks and places to eat. He also accommodated dinner requests to reheat small items. Michael kept our room tidy and clean.

Our stay was lovely, even for one night. Two small suggestions to make things even better. The shower water pressure in our room was low at times, so perhaps that needs looking into to make the experience more comfortable. Another small thing, the coffee served in the morning was filled with coffee grounds, which suggests the filter in the cafetiere needs changing. Again small things and we didn't raise them at the time, as we were focused on enjoying our stay. Lovely people, everything very clean and tidy, calm space, close walking distance to the town and train station, and beautiful views! Definitely recommend!

It’s lovely to hear that you appreciated the views and our handy location, too. Thank you also for mentioning the shower pressure. It's a recurring problem with just a few rooms, but there's a bit of re-plumbing to do to avoid the air lock that has an annoying habit of appearing very occasionally. It's always important to mention these things. In this case, it's a 5 minute job to easily fix until we can get that plumbing done out of season.. With the cafetière, pressing the plunger down too quickly can allow grounds to escape past the filter. A slow, gentle press usually prevents this, though we’ll check the filter as well. I’m sorry your morning coffee wasn’t as it should have been. Again,. had you had a little word with Josh, he would have been delighted to change the coffee We appreciate both your kind words and your helpful observations, and hope we’ll have the pleasure of welcoming you back for a longer stay.

Hi Shona. Thank you so much for your lovely review. However, I was deeply frustrated to read of your poor shower experience. It appears that an air lock, which occurs very occaionally, spoiled the shower experience of a few guests staying in a small section of rooms during your stay. The permanent fix will require these rooms that to be closed off for a re-plumb, which we hope to carry out over the coming Winter. However, if we are informed , it is a very simple 5 minute fix to move it out of the system. Google maps show us as exactly 0.3 of a mile from the centre of town. I wonder if you turned right, rather than left from our drive? That would more than double the distance to over 0.6 of a mile.
