We had a lovely stay at the Rosemount a hidden gem. The breakfasts are amazing and the food choice for evening meal is excellent. My sister and myself would love to return.

We had not planned to be in Pitlochry but Storm Amy decided otherwise!! We were very pleased with Rosemount (result of a Google search) - our room was a nice size, the bed and easy chairs were very comfortable and the ensuite bathroom was well equipped - liked the heated towel rail! The view from our room was spectacular - we saw a cheeky red squirrel on Sunday morning. Parking was good and it was only a few minutes walk to the main street. There was a nice lounge available but we didn't use it. The choices for the evening meal were good - I had the salmon and my husband had the chicken, followed by the crumble and the lemon tart - perhaps a little more of the potato element would be a good idea. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty. Breakfast was good too. All staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful. Thank you. We would recommend The Rosemount as a good place to stay in Pitlochry. Perhaps one minor point - the flex on the kettle could be a few inches longer in order to sit safely on the shelf.

Thank you so much for a detailed and extremely helpful review. It's so difficult to see behind online gloss nowadays, so such a wealth of information in a verifiable online review is like gold dust to anyone wanting reliable information about a stay at Rosemount. Accommodation review channels where the reviewer had to stay to gain access to place a review are invaluable. We were delighted to be able to make some quick changes to be able to accommodate your stranded family ahead of storm Amy and to know you saw a red squirrel scampering along our wall is a real bonus. They are such a delight, espcially when they stop to stuff their cheeks with the sweet chestnuts that rather carpet our grounds at this time of year. All post-storm, Autumnal clear-up help greatly appreciated! We hope that the rest of your visit to Scotland has been less eventful. Your unintended detour from the West Coast all the way to Pitlochry in search of a family room was probably enough of an adventure. Enjoy the rest of your time in this amazing country!. Best wishes from the team at Rosemount Hotel, Pitlochry.

From the start manager was more about keeping staff happy than residents . Said I could check in at 3 when I went to check in she said I couldn’t and not to rush back at 4 . Drinks are a rip off £10 a bottle of beer . Certainly would never go back. Room damp .

Hi Karen. We are so sorry that our best intentions have been totally misinterpreted, especially since this meant you leaving a day early, upset over perceived bad intentions on our part without our knowing this. My mentioning about resting staff, who work 10 - 12 hours a day to devote every second to the needs of our guests, was only by way of explanation as to why we couldn't guarantee to check you in early at short notice. It wasn't a case of prioritising staff over guests, more about treating them with the respect and care that they deserve. I offered that I am generally around from 3pm, but still couldn't guarantee my availability for the requested early check in and coffee service before 4pm, because I have to be avialable to take calls and run errands at this time. If my time is free, I will do my utmost to help early arrivals, but always on the understanding that it cannot be certain. We always hope that our clearly stated check in times signify the availability of guest services in such a small hotel as we are. I only mentioned not to rush back to check in at 4pm after you had parked up and gone to visit the town so that you could enjoy your time there. We were around between 3:30 and 9pm, so it made no difference to us if you came back later than 4pm. You seemed to think you had to be back at precisely 4pm to check in. It wasn't the case and I simply tried to explain that it wasn't necessary to rush back for fear that you would cut short your enjoyment of our lovely town centre Our ales and beers are all priced between £5 and £5.50. I checked your room rigorously for signs of damp. There absolutely wasn't any. You stayed as storm Amy was building. It brought along some very strange atmospheric conditions. I can only assume this would account for a damp feel to your room. We were concerned when you told us you wished to leave a day early, but you stated that it was because you did not wish to drive alone through the storm. This was understandable, so we did not question further. Had we known the underlying cause of your upset, we would have sat and discussed it with you. We are really sorry things turned out this way.
