Pat and Julie are incredible hosts, they instantly make you feel welcome and comfortable in their beautiful home. The rooms are immaculate, thank you to the team for the hard work!! Julie has a special gift of being able to make you feel relaxed and calm which is not easy in the busy work we live in!! Pat’s food is exceptional - breakfast and dinner are cooked to order with local, fresh produce to a standard that we have not found anywhere else! Three courses for evening dinner is a challenge, but worth it!! Pencubitt House is unique, she creates an oasis of calm and tranquility that you sense from the moment you enter. You will return again and again .

Tips for other travellers

Pencubitt House is in a wonderful location for traveling around Cornwall either by car or train or bus. The station is a 5 minute walk (for us) and you can easily get to any of the coastlines or inland at very reasonable prices, avoiding the stress of driving and parking. Liskeard is a short flat walk, but hilly when in the town, but has some interesting shops to explore and have a coffee. Each room in Pencubitt is individual, our favourite is room 9 as it has a large bath, but is on the top floor, so involves two small flights stairs. Rooms 4 and 5 are also beautiful, as are the others - very individual, hard to choose! There are two beautiful rooms to sit and relax in, with lovely views, plenty of books, a bar and outdoor seating which we love when the sun is shining . It is so peaceful, with music playing in the background. The dining room is again beautiful, the decor throughout is just stunning and you can spend hours just looking at their amazing collection throughout this beautiful home that we are privileged to come and share, thank you Pat, Julie and team John and Helen

A hotel where guests are given a special welcome, all their requirements are considered and respected and they are offered an opportunity to relax and enjoy the comfort of the house and garden and excellent food from the in-house menu prepared and cooked to order.

Opportunity to explore interesting places, NT properties and coastal walks either by car or connecting to bus or the local rail network which is within easy walking distance of the house.

Julie & Patrick are charming hosts. Pencubitt House is a gem of a find. Lovely rooms, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfasts, great location (easy walk from the station) and so peaceful. Whether it’s a stay for business or pleasure you won’t find better. Highly recommend.
