This is not a 5star luxury hotel, but it is a 5star luxury hostel. Basic accommodation but it makes up for that with all the other facilities you need with both very informative and welcoming staff. Excellent location to get out and about outdoors.

Breakfast and dinner were very good. Staff helpful and friendly. Facilities could need an update: Beds are rather tiny, if you are above 1,90 m, mattresses are far from comfortable. Cleanliness should be improved. At least at the end of the day tables and doors and everything else that is touched regularly by guests should get in contact with soap and water to avoid that you feel glued to whenever you touch a surface. Besides that we liked the place a lot.

Dear Wolff, Thank you very much for your review and helpful feedback. We are glad you liked the hostel. We're sorry you found the bed not comfortable. Most of our beds are standard size bunks but unfortunately in the room in which you stayed, there is one bunk which is admittedly a tiny bit shorter to fit the space - I think you may be the first to have noticed this! We do have one double bed in our family ensuite room which may be more comfortable for taller guests. We are also very sorry that you did not find the hostel to be up to our usual excellent standard of cleanliness, however I wonder if this may have been, at least in part, a misunderstanding. We have had problems with our sanitisers interacting with paint and varnish which gives the impression that surfaces have not been cleaned. We are now cleaning these surfaces with soap and water but it may be that the newer staff have not been made sufficiently aware of the problem. We will make sure everyone understands the problem, and keep an eye on the situation. In more general terms, the updating of the hostel is a work in progress and returning guests will see ongoing improvements over this winter and beyond. Had a wonderful 3 day stay. Andy and Tilda looked after us fantastically. The place was immaculately clean and tidy and the food was great. They run a very tight ship. Just as an aside, we also thought the restoration of the adjacent building was a superb example of how to build and renovate sympathetically within the national park. One of the best examples of its size we’d seen.
