Comfortable, clean, lovely old house in a perfect location for both public transport and walking, friendly staff who kindly suggested walks for me everyday when I asked, and made me great coffee and breakfasts. It's good to be able to chat with other guests (and staff) but also be quiet if you want to. I will come back. Many thanks.

The hostel is extremely well run. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bunks are very comfortable. The self catering kitchen is well equipped. The hostel is well placed for exploring the Langdale valley and the surrounding hills.

Tips for other travellers

The bus up the valley stops near the hostel and is useful. National Trust membership makes hostel parking easier.

What a truly wonderful hostel in a brilliant location. Charlie and Andy were so friendly and made me feel right at home! The hostel itself is so cozy, with a great self catering kitchen, drying room, clean and hot showers, and a lovely communal area. I had an evening meal and breakfast, both were fab and reasonably priced. They have a proper coffee machine which was a pleasant surprise, and it was a perfect way to start the day with a good coffee and watching the sun come up from their gorgeous outdoor seating overlooking the valley.

Tips for other travellers

I only stopped at this hostel for one night on a hostel to hostel hiking trip, my only regret is not staying longer! It's in an awesome location to explore the local area, I wish I stayed longer!
