The most perfect home from home. The location is just beautiful, and the drive to and from Merlin Cottage is soul stirring in beauty! We had total comfort, with 3 lovely comfortable beds, bathrooms en suite and a fully fitted kitchen. Even a washing machine was at our disposal. David, our host was available when we needed to change our dates and he was so accommodating. There was a lovely games room, with a table tennis table and beautiful snooker table too. And for those wanting to sit and relax and read, more comfortable chairs are there for use. While we didn't travel with young children, their needs were taken care of too. We loved our time there and will definitely be back!!

Tips for other travellers

Being in the Breacon Beacons is always a good place to get walking. We did some lovely road walks and enjoyed all the historic sites around. A short drive to Llandovery is always sure to delight in the most delicious foods.Ozzy is a safe bet on being open late and well worth stopping in. We loved all the places we went to and loved the knight guarding the castle ruin. There is so much history in the area and Welsh is celebrated here with huge festivals celebrating culture and special days are a guarantee. People in the area were all so friendly and helpful to us. The Co-op had all we needed for groceries, though there are other shops in Llandovery. And a lovely Wales souvenir shop is a good stop, but even some shops and garages have souvenirs too. Llandeilo is not far away with loads of gems too, but in all, everything you want in Wales is within your reach. Why not feed your senses and stay at one of our bests accommodation finds ever! You won't be sorry!

Be sure to visit some of Llandovery's pubs or try a short hike in the woods north of the cottages.
