A lovely hotel with home comforts, always warm & cosy if you stay during the colder months. Lovely rooms with sea views, comfortable beds, lots of choice for breakfast. Very helpful & friendly staff. I have stayed here several times over the years & it never disappoints. Personally, it's my favourite place to stay. When visiting Whitby.

Tips for other travellers

Pizza West is nearby, Italian food, lovely place to eat, very contemporary. Also,The Fishermans wife , a fish n chips restaurant is also good. The seacliffe do lovely bar meals, if you choose to eat in.

3 night stay at seacliffe for my husbands birthday staff really friendly, very accomadating ,room really clean and plenty of hanging space in wardrobe had a great sea view, breakfast lovely and plenty of it, also free parking .

Walked up the 199 steps to the Abbey lovely cafe and bar up there gift shop great views. Dined out each night spoilt for choice but we chose trenchers great fish and chips, passage to india lovely as always, and for my husbands birthday cosa nostra italian what a little gem beautiful food.

So many things to do in Whitby, lots of different festivals throughout the year, train journey, shops, food, The Abbey, the Church, just walking about the town is peaceful and relaxing.

Everything local,just a walk away,Chinese restaurant a stone throw away,town a 5-10 minute walk for bars, restaurants.The old town and abbey lovely places with tearooms etc.
