"A great stay at the Ouse Bridge House. It could not have been better located for us, as we were visiting friends who lived nearby. It is a great quite location, with plenty of on-site parking, and with excellent direct access to the A66, making both the rest of the National Park and North Cumbia easily accessible. Fabulous views across the lake and Skiddaw. The guests lounge is a great facility, providing those staying with space to spread out and relax if you spend on evening in. Ben and Virginia are really friendly and are on hand virtually all the time to help if needed. Breakfast is top notch, all made fresh with lots of choice."

Tip:
"Keswick is always good, with a wide range of eateries, coffee shops and retail. A visit to Bassenwaite Lake Station Café (virtually across the road – the A66 that is) is a must, with its Murder on the Orent Express stage set train complete with 3 full carriages for you to dine in, or you can choose the cute station house, closed as a rail station in the 1960s. Then take a walk on the nearby boardwalk (opposite the entrance), easily accessible to all with lots of interesting information about the local habitat. Grasmere is nice and a short drive, with Ambleside being a bit more central to the lakes, busier but not that far."
