"The Stables was a really convenient and nice place to stay for a few days over a family gathering nearby in Dirleton.
Loads of hot water, really comfy beds and plenty of space.
Only downside, too few plates and glasses for 6 people (only 5 of each). Fortunately, other family members were staying in another of the cottages so we were able to sort this out. However, it would have been inconvenient if this hadn’t been the case.
We’d certainly come back."

Places to eat in North Berwick: Osteria (upmarket Italian, v good. Must book well in advance)
The Rocketeer - converted Lifeboat Lookout. Great seafood and fab views.
Drift Cafe - on the way to Tantallon Castle (also well with a visit) out of NB. Great cake, coffee and lunch menu. Spectacular views over the Firth of Forth.

Places to visit: Yellowcraig beach (parking fees), Seacliffe (£5 all day parking but well worth it, Dirleton Castle, Tantallon Castle, North Berwick Gin Distillery, NB harbour and Seabird Centre, fantastic trips out to all local islands by boat or rib (book at the harbour in NB)."

"WOW!! We stayed in The Granary for 3 nights - simply not long enough - we didn’t want to leave ( deposit paid for next year before we left ) When you walk through the door it’s the space that hits you first. It is spacious throughout. Very clean and more than adequately equipped for everything you need. Fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, cooker/oven, microwave, utensils etc.
The views as you pull in to park up - WOW!! "

Tip:
"We spent our time driving into Dunbar and Edinburgh. Edinburgh was bit of a nightmare finding parking spaces and very expensive (recommend park and ride) we eventually drove to Wallyford, parked, caught the bus but then realised the train station was just around the corner (noted for next year) as the bus was a long journey into Edinburgh, the train only 10 minutes. So much we didn’t see (not enough time) but Edinburgh Tattoo is a must in August and The fringe in August means it’s very busy, recommend pre booking tables to eat. We can’t wait for next year!!"

"Stunning location overlooking Hailes Castle. Spacious accommodation - homely, yet also fresh."

Tip:
"Sadly Hailes Castle is currently fenced off, but the walk to it was lovely, as was the walk along the river."
