"Recently had the pleasure of two stays at Harling House in Ingleton.
The hosts Steve and Sue were so nice during my visits.
Sue asked me to text her on arrival at Manchester airport and I was greeted with a cuppa and a slice of her delicious homemade cake.
Breakfast can be custom ordered the night before and served at your selected time.
I had the full English every day of my 5 days there.
I will certainly book again on my next visit to the area.
Thank you Sue and Steve for the conversations and the laughs too!"

"We rarely go to the same location or accommodation more than twice so for us to have just completed our 12th (!) visit to Harling House since discovering it in 2021 says a lot !! Great location a pleasant 10/15 mins walk into the village and amenities,comfortable clean well appointed rooms and always a warm friendly welcome from hosts Steve and Sue. Wonderful cooked breakfasts to set you up for a day walking in the Dales. There are plenty of information leaflets available with ideas of places to visit and walks to do. On return to Harling House after your day out you will find complimentary Cake freshly baked by Sue to help revive you! We are already looking forward to our next visit later this year.

Tip:
"Try the Westhouse Walks - leaflet with walking directions available from Steve or Sue- you can start from Harling House so no need to drive. Interesting walks with lovely views and not too strenuous. Stop at the Marton Arms Hotel in Thornton in Lonsdale for a reviving drink in the pleasant beer garden. Another walk from Stainforth near Settle visiting waterfalls Catrigg Force and Stainforth Force is worth trying. We always enjoy a drive through Kingsdale to the heritage village of Dent which is interesting to look around with a small museum and there are some lovely walks in the area.. Eating out we enjoy La Tavernetta in Ingleton a small Italian restaurant- the owner / chef is Antonio and food is freshly cooked. Booking essential to ensure a table. Short drives away there are The Game Cock in Austwick , The Pheasant Inn in Casterton near Kirby Lonsdale and The Highway Man at Burrow also near Kirby.
