"We booked two rooms for four nights and were allocated rooms 2 and 12. Room 12 was on the ground floor and was VERY small. The bed was comfortable and the small shower room was modern and clean with a brilliant shower. We had a shock when we saw room 2. We knew it was on the first floor so expected one flight of stairs but not an additional very steep flight of stairs from the bedroom to access the ensuite! This is not made clear in the online description. As it happens my brother and his wife, who are both 86, are exceptionally fit for their age and were able to manage the stairs but it would have been a real predicament for anyone less fit. We couldn't use that room as my husband is disabled. The description of the room should be made clear at the time of booking.
The Sunday lunch was lovely but there was very little choice for vegetarians for the rest of the week. In fact there were just two vegan main courses and no veggie. There needs to be more variety on the menu for anyone staying more than a couple of nights.
The cooked breakfasts were good but there was insufficient choice or amount of fruit. Most mornings there was only 1 banana and one orange, plus a few apples, when we arrived for breakfast at 9am."

Tip:
"Do not book room 2 unless you are physically fit! We love the area. The scenery is beautiful and it is so peaceful. We visited Thornbridge Hall. The house tour was so different and well worth the £12.58. The tea room was excellent and the grounds are beautiful."

"Restaurant menu not as good as sample menu on the net, less choice.
Huge meals served in the evening, this detracted from the food and made the dinners less enjoyable"
