"What a great find! Lovely, welcoming inn! Decent-sized, well-appointed room. Great bar, good beers, good, competitively priced food, substantial portions (we ate there twice and had breakfast every day). Helpful, friendly staff: a special thank-you to Ben! Great location, great walking, bus just outside the inn. We would love to return!"

"(See above) Fabulous walking country. Good bus service. We also ate at the Black Lion at Butterton: different, but excellent."

"Very nice room, comfy bed. Fittings for a window blind but blind not there, room was very light at 06:00. Good breakfast and evening meals, sunday lunch was very good. Really enjoyed our stay"

"Good walks following rivers so fairly easy walks available. Bus stop outside Inn for a day trip to Ashborne or Buxton"
