o List of nearby shops in Melksham e.g. Waitrose and Sainsbury
o Emergency call number in case of illness
o Instructions on how to use the bus
o Taxi
o Sharpening stone for knives
o Big non-slip shower mat for safety
o Brochures and maps for nearby sites of interest
• Sign in Guest book where guests can enter comments

"Over a great many years, my wife and I have visited England on numerous occasions for a month or more. We would rate our stay at the Whitley Coach House as amongst the best. This time, we spent more than a month and found our hosts both gracious and helpful. The location is within easy reach of a lot of points of interest, all within easy reach. We list in detail some features of relevance to anyone planning a visit.
Features of the accommodation:
• Easy parking
• Outstanding bed
• Great towels and face flannels
• Very well furnished
• Large refrigerator
• Nice back patio with tables and an umbrella
• Tranquil location
• Next to a golf course
Village:
• Has a village pub
• Bike Shop
• Coffee shop
• Village store
Nearby places to visit:
• Pub nearby in Winsley
• Tollgate Inn in Holt for traditional pub (great fish and chips)
• Barge Inn in Seend for great Sunday lunches
• Lacock
• Corsham Court
• Bath
o Best not to drive in – bus it or train from Bradford on Avon
• Lowden Garden Center in Atworth for meals

Jim and Patricia, thank you for staying 30 days, I hope Whitley Coach House is now your go to place when you often come over. Until you mentioned a road mirror I never thought about one, until your comment and saw there was one there already although we have never needed or seen it in 12 years. It has been polished up, in the unlikely event some might use it. We have put a visitors information sheet in both Whitley Old Garage and Whitley Coach House, including details of nearby shops, emergency call numbers, bus instructions, etc There has always has been a sharpening steel in the drawer with the knives and I often check and ensure their sharpness. There is now a none slip bath mat in the hallway cupboard on the occasions guests are uneasy standing in the bath having a shower. There will be a website giving details of all the nearby sites, I do not want either Whitley Coach House or Whitley Old Garage to look like a hotel lobby or tourist information centre, they are both homes from home. Also there will never be a guest book in either. The best places for a review are: Google, Booking.com, Expedia, VRBO, Airbnb, Bath Self Catering, Visit Somerset, Visit Wiltshire, Hotels.com, Cottages.com, Tripadvisor, Hoseasons.co.uk, Facebook, etc. They are the best forums for people to leave comments so future guests can make a judgement before booking. The utter pain for guests nowadays is everyone wants a review, including us, so a book would take space and mean less live reviews. We really enjoyed meeting you and hope you will stay many more time. Very many thanks.

Set well away from the road , it was in a quiet location, with plenty of parking. Tim, the host, was very helpful from the outset & throughout, and overall we had an excellent stay."

Tip:
"Useful to study googlemap before your stay to note the Barn's exact location. Useful for guests to know in advance that apart from being furnished with a good range of kitchen equipment , utensils & tableware, the kitchen is also equipped with cleaning materials and (on our visit) some teabags & coffee."

With each booking we send our detailed directions and a link to maps with a pin point of the property, as sat nav's often are inaccurate on the last part, also I am always available on the phone or onsite for most arrivals.
