"We were so pleased to find such a great overnight stay! We made a very late booking through Lastminute.com and when we arrived we got a warm welcome and shown to our accommodation by the owners. Our room was spacious, well appointed and very attractive with an adjoining full bathroom with shower over the bath. Everything was spotless and the beds the most comfortable we have slept in for sometime. Very impressed all round - a pleasant stay at a very reasonable price. And there's a complimentary glass of wine to top off the deal! Our only comment would be that perhaps a larger sign indicating the location of the premises might be helpful, as it is quite easy to miss first time which means turning round and driving back! However, this may have been addressed as building works are still in progress. "

Tip:
"As bookings are on a room only basis, the proprietor recommended several nearby eating places which were only a few minutes drive. Evening meal can be taken at any of 3 nearby Premier Inn, or other fast food outlets. For breakfast, a few minutes down the road in the village is Greta Bakery where you can get a variety of excellent breakfasts at a reasonable price. So it is not a great hardship having to go outside your accommodation for something to eat. "

Thank you for your honest review on the Twin Room. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at The Glen and did not find it too inconvenient to eat out. As we are a private house we need planning permission for a sign and we are working with the council on this. We hope to see you again in the near future.

"- We thought the owners were hospitable, friendly & welcoming.
- The building is next to a busy road so you will hear traffic noise (less so if windows are closed).
- There are several dogs living on the premises inside and out (they bark at unsociable hours). ***Could be mentioned on description, if (like me) someone is allergic to dogs.***
- The room was very clean and all your needs was catered for (including free Wi-Fi).
- We thought the single mattresses could be made more comfortable (i.e. to have more padding on them.
- ***Our advice to you about people who have allergies, would be to remove the plug-in air fresheners and tone down on the conditioner with the bedding, as I had to use my asthma inhaler.***
- We knew when we booked it that the place was an equestrian farm but thought the outside could have looked more inviting if it was tidied up a bit and maybe fresh gravel put down where vehicles drive in and park.
- The farm name could also be made more visible to spot it from the adjoining fast road.
- It would also be more eye catching to have potted plants along the front.
- All our issues are minor and achievable (if you took them on board), other than that, it was value for money.

Thank you for your honest review on the Twin Room. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at The Glen. We are working on the outside as funds come in. There are still tipper trucks coming on site to deliver building materials for the Charity so that we can finish off the stone barn for the rescue horses. Once these have stopped coming on site we plan to landscape the grounds. The road is very quiet at night and not a constant noise like in the city. The beds are difficult to please all. They are new and soft. As in other reviews they have stated that it has been the best nights sleep they have had. We do like our visitors to know they have fresh bedding on their beds. We will try look for a product that will help people with allergies. The plug-in fresheners can be switched off. Dogs are not allowed in the rental accommodation. We do have farm dogs that will bark if disturbed and free range chickens. We have applied for planning permission for a sign and we are working with the council on this. We will take on all your concerns and address them where we can. We hope to see you again in the near future.
