"The standard of the rooms we had was exceptional and, despite specifying online an end check-in time of 8PM, the owner was flexible enough to let us arrive after 9.30, after a long journey down from Scotland. Though the website through which we booked had allocated us two rooms on different floors, he also saw that we were a large single family and thoughtfully shuffled his bookings to give us two adjoining rooms on the ground floor, each with its own en suite - effectively our own little apartment. The only tiny glitch was that, despite being licensed and called a bed and breakfast, there was no catering available during our stay. Otherwise, though, this is a characterful small hotel of a very high standard."
