"This was our 4th visit. We are 5 ladies of mature age and really enjoy our stays here. We hire the Barn and the Stables, the Barn being our main base as it is very spacious.. The properties are very clean, and the hosts, Hohn and Helen, are very approachable. The location is superb, just outside the village, and despite the many tourists in the village, it is very quiet, with views to die for. A very pleasant place."

Tip:
"The Castle pub is a Vintage Inn, and we enjoyed our meal there. Tilly’s cafe is a must for coffee and cake, and breakfast.
We got the bus to Buxton and spent a good day there, but there is only one bus there and one back.
It goes without saying that there are many walks, both challenging and easy: something for everyone."

"The cottages are ideally situated on the edge of the village, quiet but only a short walk to the village, not far to the caverns and a good start for longer walks to the tor and beyond. The cottages are clean, well maintained and spacious. There is parking directly outside the cottages. John and Helen are very welcoming, are always available and provide lots of information."

Tip:
"The village has many good pubs, cafes and restaurants a short walk away. The caverns, Mam Tor, the Hope Valley, Ladybower reservoir, Stanage Edge are all nearby. Great place for fresh air and walks."

"Another fantastic stay at Goosehill Hall. Cottage as always fabulous and seems like our other home, perfect base for discovering the area. Booked already for next year! "

Tip:
"Monsal trail walk from Buxton to Bakewell a nice easy walk. Circular walk from Gradbach to Luds Church a new walk for us but well worth it for the variety of scenery you get to take in. "
