"What a lovely place this, so handy for all the local activities but yet in a relaxed world of its own. The seasonal wild life can be an additional bonus.
I’ve lost count of how many times we staid here, probably more than a dozen and we have already booked for next year."

Tip:
"Can recommend the Peak hotel and its sister the Old hall in Hope. Not a favourite of mine (hard chairs) but the George is always good especially the Pizza box for children. Fish and chips “ when open”!

"The house is excellent, spacious and light, immaculately clean with high quality amenities and fittings and in an outstandingly beautiful setting. Check in and out was quick and straightforward and we were grateful to John for taking delivery of our parcel. We were somewhat surprised that check out time was 9.30 as it is normally no earlier than 10.00 elsewhere and we would have appreciated more time to tidy the house and pack, especially with children around. Also, a few extras in the kitchen would have been welcome, e.g. a few dishwasher tablets, a pan scrubber, a second tea towel and a few oven-proof dishes for cooking (would have liked to make a fruit crumble!) + a couple of spare toilet rolls. "

Tip:
"Goosehill is an excellent base for visiting the area with great walks, caverns and other places of interest on the doorstep and we would highly recommend it. Castleton village is very picturesque and the little local shops useful for small purchases, whilst supermarkets are available a few miles away if necessary. Useful visitor centre with an excellent shop and museum as well as cafe and loos. We only ate once in the village, at 1530, which provided an excellent meal and service. Since the garden at Goosehill is really only suitable for sitting in, with gravel and flagstones, those with families might like to know that there is a good playground and field for football/basketball in Castleton, hidden away a couple of hundred yards out of the village."
