"I have been going to Aird Donald, since I bought my caravan, for the last 13 years. The site is ideal for me to visit family in the area. The site is peaceful and tranquil, nice to return to after a hectic day and be able to relax. I stay at the site 3 times a year, I have found the owners to be informative, friendly and very helpful at all times. When we visit in April and October the modern toilet block is closed but this is reflected in the site fee daily and this block is very clean and has been modernised in the last few years. I would recommend this site to all fellow campers!"

Tip:
"It is a small 10 to 15 minute walk into the town centre, I am 64 and I can do this 2 or more times a day. Lots of good restaurants in Stranraer and Takeaways. Visit Portpatrick (9 miles), Port Logan (14 miles), Mull of Galloway (most Southerly point in Scotland), Castle Kennedy gardens and more. Leaflets are available at Main reception."

"We arrived to discover a tidy, well maintained level (what joy) campsite. Were greeted by very friendly/helpful staff, who pointed out all the facilities the site has, water supplies, waste disposal points, laundry, showers and toilet block and of course dish washing station. Got to choose our own pitch which has 10A supply. Showers are coin operated, staff have plentiful supply of 50p pieces and you get 8 mins worth of hot water which is great. Lovely place."

Tip:
"Site is a casual 15/20 min walk to town centre, no hills. Large park right on the waterfront, nice cafe. Expansive walk along the waterfront and all the natives are friendly. Craignelder Hotel does lovely meals. 15min walk, out of campsite, turn left, 3rd turn on the right (Stair Drive), hotel is last building on the left, not much parking space on the street."
