"I love this site it’s extremely well kept, the facilities are spotlessly clean and it’s a family run site. The site is dog friendly, there isn’t a charge for dogs we have 3. The site is eco aware with solar street lighting and motion sensors in the toilets. We stayed for 14 nights and use the site as a base to explore the area. The price of our stay was very reasonable and the web site is informative with events in the area."

Tip:
"There is a lovely long flat beach at Sandhead with toilets and a good playground for children only 15 minutes away. The local shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and take aways are a 10 minute walk away. A playground is a 5 minute walk from the site. The mull is a must for a visit a lighthouse museum, RSPB site, walking and a lovely cafe. There are gardens to visit, a Red Kite feeding station is worth a visit. The Galloway forest for walking and cycling routes, the coastline is beautiful.

"We had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend this campsite to anyone. It really does cater for everyone, whether you're a couple, a family with children, or bringing your dog along.

The owners are warm, welcoming, and always on hand if you need anything, which makes the whole experience feel relaxed and personal.

We've camped all over Scotland, and one thing that stood out more than anything else was just how spotless the site was. Everywhere was exceptionally clean, tidy, and well looked after. It's obvious that the owners take great pride in maintaining the site, and their hard work certainly doesn't go unnoticed.

More than anything, they have created a place that genuinely feels like a home from home. From the welcoming atmosphere to the immaculate facilities, everything is designed to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

We wouldn't hesitate to return and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, friendly, and well-maintained campsite in a fantastic location. "

"One of the highlights has to be the Ivy Leaf Fish & Chip Shop – without exaggerating, it's one of the best fish and chip shops we've visited in years. The food was fresh, generous in portion size, and absolutely delicious.

The location is ideal for families. There's a small play park right on site, and just a two-minute walk away is a huge park with a BMX track, scooter area, skate park, and plenty of open space for children to enjoy. While the kids were busy playing, we could take the dog for a relaxing walk nearby.

The seafront is also only a couple of minutes away and has a lovely promenade that takes you all the way towards the town. It's perfect for an evening stroll, taking in the sea air, or simply enjoying the views.

Another big advantage is how convenient everything is. If you've forgotten anything, there's no need to worry, as Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Argos, and several other shops are all within a five-minute drive. Everything you need is close by.

Stranraer really is an underrated town with plenty to offer. Whether you're visiting as a family, a couple, or with your dog, there's something for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend both the area and the campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing break."
